Ozzie (ARPH #12347) is a 6-7 year old black-tri male Australian Shepherd, and as you can probably tell from the pictures he is very overweight. We have started him on, and he will need to stay on a weight reduction diet/program and daily exercise in order to reduce his weight. He is good with dogs, cats, ignores the bird and is great with people. He recently went to an adoption event where he was very polite with everyone he met. Ozzie is great in the car, pretty good on walks, housebroken, great loose in the house when we are home or when left alone. Oz is very Velcro and has one true obsession: any toy or ball that can be thrown! This is great news for a dog that needs to lose weight! There is a video of his ball obsession in his posting on Petfinder, very cute! It does seem as if he could do this 24 hours a day, unless the toys are put up. Ozzie is located near Westerville. For more information, please contact Georganne at annaverv@yahoo.com. (listed 08/18/10) |

Ahhh, this sweet girl is Katie. She has 8 babies with her now, but one day soon she will be looking for a home all her own. Katie is a dear sweet girl, who is learning all about life in a home (well, a garage right now while she is whelping her puppies) and is doing very well. Katie likes to keep her space clean and is doing very well at keeping those pups clean too! Katie is learning some new commands. She gets some time away from all those playful pups here and there, and her foster home is teaching her great things. Katie is walking very nicely on lead, she knows sit and is trying very hard to remember what stay means. Most times, she has it, but sometimes people are just so much more important! Her recall is becoming fabulous. Katie is a sweet and Velcro, pure bred Aussie. When all her pups have gone, Katie will be looking for her own new place to live. That should be in early October. She will be up to date on vaccinations, spayed, micro chipped and heartworm tested. If you are interested in her, please fill out an application at www.rosas.rescuegroups.org prior to emailing any questions regarding her. We field hundreds of emails a day, so serious inquires only. Thanks so much for your interest in our dogs. (listed 08/29/10) |

Hey there! We are Katie's daughters! We are 5 weeks old now and doing great! Healthy and happy and exploring the world around us! Our mom is really pretty and she's taking really good care of us. They call her a "black-tri aussie", but we're not sure what that really means. She seems to have lost her tail somewhere and can't find it. Not to worry, we didn't lose ours. Keep checking back as they'll have updates on how we're doing, growing, and how gosh darn cute we are!! Please fill out an application at www.rosas.rescuegroups.org. Puppy viewings will be scheduled after 6 weeks of age and you can "pick your pup" then. Appointments will be scheduled in order of applications received, so if you are interested, please fill out an application prior to asking any questions. You can always cancel your application if you change your mind. These pups will have been wormed and given their first set of shots. Spay/neuter vouchers are available if you are interested in purchasing one, for $25.00 at the time of adoption. (listed 08/29/10) |

![]() | Meet Sydney & Rohi. These two are a dynamic duo. Sydney, a blue merle neutered male, and Rohi, a black tri spayed female, are two sweet older aussies that due to unfortunate circumstances, no fault of their own, have found themselves homeless. They have been in foster care for the last 6 months “getting pretty” as they both needed some diet, exercise and time for their bad haircuts to shape up a little. These two have been together most of their lives and not had much interaction with other dogs. They are doing well in their foster home though, learning that life can go on. Sydney is about 6 y/o and Rohi is about 5 y/o. They are between 45 and 50lbs. They run and play with the energy and enthusiam of young dogs. Rohi is a fool for her purple Jolly Ball and Sydney is nuts over his tennis balls thrown with a "Chuck It" . They play so well together waiting and taking turns while the other gets a throw and a run after their toy. They enjoy their games regardless of the weather and love to do whatever it is you are doing, inside or outside. They are learning some basic obedience among other things here in foster care. They are crate trained and housebroken, and food motivated. We would like to find them one home, but would be willing to split for the right families. They are up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and spayed/neutered. If you have any questions, please contact Etta Ruth at aussiemom@windstream.net. These dogs are located in the greater Lexington Area. (listed 03/14/10) |

Before I tell you about all the wonderful things I know about Jazz, let me tell you what she isn’t first. Jazz prefers the company of women, and will not be adopted to a male-only home. She is not a dog for a family. She will not go to a home with children, as they terrify her. She must have a fenced in yard, no exceptions. The fence must be physical, not invisible/electric, no exceptions. Jazz cannot go out of state for her adoption unless it is a picture-perfect home with someone with Aussie experience. Now, that you know the downside, let me tell you about all the good things. Jazz is a 6 year old, blue merle female who is absolutely a joy to have around. She is a playful, fun loving, smart, challenging dog. Jazz LOVES to play “hide and seek” and she will fetch a ball or stick. She loves to run and romp in the yard, seeming almost puppyish at times. She enjoys being outside playing with her people. Once bonded, Jazz will be the most loyal dog, and will always be focused on her person. After she has had a chance to establish a strong bond with her new person, Jazz will love to be your walking buddy. She enjoys evening walks with her special person as well, trips to places that are out in the open such as parks. Her recall is excellent, she is housebroken and crated trained, and walks well on leash. She gets along well with other dogs and while we don’t know about cats, we suspect she would be fine with them. Despite her fears and hesitations, she is a curious pup with a need to explore. Once she is comfortable with her surroundings (could take several months), Jazz loves to investigate newcorners in her world, laying aside her fears to find something that sparks her inner curiosity. Jazz has been known to sneak around the house, searching out fun toys and interesting things, only to pile them up and look at them, again, after she is comfortable in her home. Jazz knows basic obedience, a couple of tricks, and is learning to herd. She has entered our herding classes, been instinct tested (AND PASSED!) and is furthering her training. She will make a wonderful and loyal friend to her new adopters. Jazz is an amazing dog. If you have any questions about Jazz, or would like to adopt her, please contact Amanda at Amandariddle@insightbb.com. Jazz is up to date on all vaccinations, spayed and microchipped. Jazz is located in the Greater Cincinnati area. (listed 07/20/09; updated 04/30/10)) |

Cinderella (NS #0467) is a sweet girl with a ton of potential. She is a beautiful red merle female who is about 18 months of age. She is the spunky sister of Prince Roscoe Charming (listed just below). This handsome duo found themselves homeless and landed right smack in the middle of the hands of our wonderful New Spirit volunteers! Like her brother, Cinderella is a blank slate, ready to be taught anything her new home would like. She is learning all about basic obedience in her foster home and is getting along with all the other foster pups as well. Cinderella is a little firecracker. She will need the firm hand of someone willing to work with her. Between her and Prince Roscoe Charming, she certainly wears the pants in the family. She will need a home that is willing to tell her no and mean it! This beauty is being fostered in Maineville. If you are interested in this dog, please contact Amanda at Amandariddle@insightbb.com and fill out an application at www.ns4ar.org. (listed 08/29/10) |

Prince Roscoe Charming (NS #0468) is a wonderful pure bred Aussie. He is a loveable, rolly-polly bundle of Aussie joy! Prince Roscoe Charming, aptly named, is a sweet 18 month old charmer. He weighs about 45 pounds and is a very nice sized Aussie. Prince Roscoe Charming has spent too much time out in the sun. His coat is dry and damaged, but with a little time this guy will surely live up to his royal name. He has beautiful amber eyes that set off his dark red coat. Prince Roscoe Charming is learning some basic obedience in his foster home. He will be looking for a family that would be interested in continuing his education after adoption. He would thoroughly enjoy an obedience class (as there would be all kinds of people to love on him!). Prince Roscoe Charming does well with other pups of all shapes and sizes. He loves people of all kinds, even the young ones, though he is a little jumpy. This is from lack of training, and the foster home is working on is. We are unsure of his interest in cats. Prince Roscoe Charming will make a wonderful, loving, affectionate, companion to his next family. He is excited about the prospect of being loved for the rest of his life! Prince Roscoe Charming will be fostered in Maineville. If you are interested in this dog, please contact Amanda at Amandariddle@insightbb.com and fill out and application at www.ns4ar.org. This handsome fellow is Corvair (NS #681). He is a snuggly, cuddly Aussie in need of a great home! Corvair is about 18 months old and is a striking black-tri. This fellow has a full and gorgeous tail that follows him around. He is an average Aussie, in both personality and size. He tops the weight charts at a comfortable 32 pounds. Corvair has that charming Aussie Velcro-ness that the breed is famous for. Corvair is being fostered with 2 other pups that are showing him the ropes. His foster sister is teaching him how to romp and play in the yard (and sometimes the living room!) and his foster brother is giving lessons on playing ball. With a little luck, this handsome fellow will have it down before he moves on to his "fur-ever" home. Corvair also enjoys riding in the car, and doesn't mind bath time or brushing too much. He is patient and quiet during these activities. Corvair is housebroken and crate trained, though he will whine to be with his people. He does quiet down on command, and will sleep through the night, without a noise. If you are interested in this dog, please contact Amanda at amandariddle@insightbb.com, and go to www.ns4ar.org to fill out an application. He is being fostered in Maineville. (listed 08/29/10) |

Please meet Smokey Toes (NS #0466). Want a walking buddy, or a friendly pup to hang out with the kids? Smokey Toes is your man! He is a sweet, attentive, purebred Aussie just looking for a home of his own. Smokey Toes is a nice quiet Aussie who is about 3 years old and tips the scales around 38 pounds. He appears to be house broken. He likes to keep his space clean, both in the 10 foot kennel he currently runs in and in his crate. Smokey Toes needs some TLC. His coat is full, but rough and with a couple months of good chow, this boy will have a soft full coat. Smokey is good with other dogs, and didn't show much interest in the cats at the vet's office. He likes all people and is good with kids. This cutie is learning many new things in his new foster home. He does pretty good with leash walking and is learning sit, off and no. He is ready to learn anything you would like to teach him! He is neutered and up to date on shots.Smokey Toes is fostered in Maineville. Meet Roper Fly (NS #0461). This handsome man is a purebred Aussie. He is about 1 year old with no tail and cute three quarter ears! This loveable guy is friendly to everyone he meets, both human and canine. Roper is a compact male of about 42 pounds. He has a beautiful thick Aussie coat. This boy is everything you expect in a classic Aussie, from looks to attitude. Roper is an active pup who enjoys his time playing with other dogs. He can get so caught up in the game that he can be a little rough, but takes correction very well. He enjoys being in the car and will lay down for the ride. He's never met a stranger. Roper knows several commands and is completely housebroken and crait trained. Even in his large kennel he will not potty. He has that game down. Roper has beautiful blue eyes. He doesn't like to spend long hours out in the sun because his eyes are sensitive. This does not mean that he can't go out and play, just that some consideration needs to be taken: he would prefer not to play fetch at high noon on a bright sunny day. He would rather play in the morning or the evening, or even when it is cloudy out. He is fine to walk or jog in the sun, just not play activities where he must strain his eyes to see, such as playing ball. Roper would do best in an active home where he gets to use his Aussie abilities and wear himself out. This great guy will make a perfect addition to any active family. He is being fostered in Maineville. All of our dogs are up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and spayed/neutered. If you have any questions, please contact Amanda at amandariddle@insightbb.com or Charlene at aussie@aol.com. Fill out an application at www.ns4ar.org. Thank you so much for your interest in our Aussies! (listed 08/05/10) |

This handsome guy is Sparrow the Champ (NS #0463). He is a wonderful boy, about 4 years old and 62 pounds, though he could stand to lose a couple (or seven!). One look in his soft brown eyes and you can see how sweet he is! Sparrow is good with all people and likes to give kisses; heis a very affectionate dog. He loves to be petted and loved on. Sometimes, if he thinks you aren't paying enough attention to him, he will give out a little bark just to let you know he is still there! Sparrow is an active boy who likes lots of play time in the yard. He would make an excellent running or active walking partner. He also has perfect leash manners. Sparrow is housebroken and crate trained and knows a few commands. He would be a good agility prospect as well as obedience. Sparrow is a Velcro pup and has a great recall. He loves to watch T.V. but also enjoys playing ball in the yard (though he enjoys keep away just as much). Sparrow has beautiful show coat but it needs a little work. He needs to be on a good diet and lots of brushing (which is not a problem, as he enjoys it). He will need his new family to be firm but loving, just until he realizes that he isn't in charge. Sparrow seems to be interested in the cat in his foster home. He hasn't tried to play chase yet, but only time will tell if he will as he begins to feel more comfortable. Sparrow would love to find a home of his own. Sparrow is being fostered in Maineville.
